A Drive Across America: Day 1
Peter Jenkins wrote A Walk Across America. I am making a drive across America from Charlotte, North Carolina to Los Angeles, California. This will be the first time I have driven across the country and I will be recording the trip on the blog.
All of my stuff is packed into my little white Ford Fusion. I am equipped with a long audio book through Audible that should make some of the uneventful drive through the Great Plains more bearable. The book I will listen to is Titan, by Ron Chernow, which is a biography on John D. Rockefeller.
My first stop was Boone, NC. I wanted to see my friend Brennen before leaving the state. We talked about Entrepreneurship, and what the future will look like for jobs and new companies. He recommended that I focus more on computer programming, which I think is an excellent idea.
I stopped in Nashville, Tennessee for Dinner. The Bluebird Cafe was at it's occupancy limit, so I couldn't get in. At the recommendation of a local Starbucks barista, I ate at Edley's Bar-B-Que, which was excellent.
I have to drive a little more tonight to get to Montgomery Bell State Park, where I will camp.
