A Drive Across America: Day 2

A Drive Across America: Day 2

After leaving Burger Up in Nashville, TN last night, I arrived after dark at Montgomery Bell State Park. It has been raining since I set out yesterday, and it poured last night in Tennessee. I decided it would be better to just sleep in the back seat of my car than get all of my camping gear wet, just to have to put it away again in the morning for another day’s drive.

I stopped in Memphis, TN. It was foggy and gray, but I got to walk around the city and take a good look at the Mississippi River. The city showcases its musical heritage with images of Elvis Presley and B.B. King.

My next stop was in Little Rock, Arkansas. At the recommendation of a friend, I ate at The Oyster Bar, serving Cajun food. It was excellent.

I plan on camping at Ouachita National Forest tonight. Hopefully it will stop raining.
